Online Shopping
Thank you for choosing us to do your online shopping with us.   We do offer a secure payment option through PayPal , Shopify Pay or you can choose to pay online via credit card if you do not have a PayPal account. 

If you feel more comfortable placing your order offline, please call us toll free at 1-866-45QUILT (1-866-457-8458).   We are happy to process your order over the phone as well.

Online we are able to accept, Visa, Mastercard, Paypal.  In store we accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Gift Certificates, and Cash.

Return Policy

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

Some items that have been special ordered and not a regular stocked item, will be subject to a 50% restocking fee.  If you are unsure if your item qualifies as a specialty item, please contact us. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned such as: 
- Cut Fabric
- Patterns
- Books
- Sewing Machine Feet
- Embroidery Hoops
- Custom designed kits (colors other than what we have selected)
- Sewing Machines, Cutting Machines
- Furniture
- Other restrictions may apply and may be subject to restocking fees

Additional non-returnable items:
- Gift cards
- Downloadable software products

Machine Deposits, are non-refundable.  The British Columbia Court of Appeal traced the rule in Howe v. Smith into Canadian law and its adoption by the Supreme Court of Canada. That rule, the B.C. Court of Appeal explained, is an exception to the rule against penalties. A deposit, it said, is “non-refundable” by definition.

Is a deposit legally binding?

“If you place an order and pay a deposit, you have made a legally binding contract to purchase the goods,” said Alison Lindley, legal expert at the Consumers’ Association. “If you then change your mind you have broken the contract and must forfeit your deposit.

Machine Testing

Please note for quality control purposes, your sewing machine may be opened and pre-tested prior to any shipping if you are not a local customer.  This does not void any warranties or other Cottage Quilting Policies.  This is to further assist in quality control so that we can confirm if your machine is in complete working order prior to being released.   All Titan industrial machines, are manufactured at the time of order, assembled, tested then released once shipping is paid.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

Refunds (if applicable)
You are responsible for the freight charges back to Cottage Quilting.  Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied as a store credit.  Store credits do not expire and can be applied to any other purchase.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at and send your item to: 110, 2000 Spall Rd,  Kelowna BC V1Y9P6, Canada.

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

 Any shipping on returns will be paid by the buyer unless a mistake by Cottage Quilting has occurred (we shipped the wrong product, we shipped you too many or not enough etc.), then Cottage Quilting will pay the freight.   The returned goods must include a copy of the original receipt, your email address, shipping address, and phone number. 

  • Delayed shipments: As most businesses, we are some times experiencing longer than normal shipping times from our suppliers, or delayed shipments.  We try our best to keep an open line of communication with all purchasers about any delays.  Delayed shipments do not constitute for canceled orders, we will fill orders as quickly as possible and trust us when we say we are on our suppliers all the time for better shipment times.
  • Pre-Order purchases:  Pre-orders can qualify for a store credit refund only.  The reason being, once you've committed to us that you want this item - we were so excited we placed your order with our supplier - now we're committed!   We unfortunately do not get to cancel and we will receive these goods regardless.   So unfortunately, we still need to fulfil our obligation but we respect your request and we hope they will find a new loving home.  So we do hope you understand that while we honor your refund request, we are only able to offer a store credit. 

We carry a large variety of product and do our best to ensure your inventory is up to date and accurate.   We do offer a selection of items that are not in stock at our store and may be required to order from our suppliers.  Only items that are available for purchase from our suppliers are available.  If you happen to choose a product that is not present in our building, we will correct this immediately and order it the same day to ensure there is not a lengthy delivery time.   This can create a delay of 2-3 weeks.  

Purchases greater than $10,000
All purchases over $10,000 will be subject to a 2% credit card surcharge if you choose to pay via credit card.  We accept all forms of payments including certified cheque if you would prefer to pay this way.   We are happy to discuss your payment options and choices when you're shopping with Cottage Quilting.
