For use in freehand embroidery, quilting and monogramming. Spring needles combine the function of a darning spring on the needle itself. This needle is a dream for free-hand machine embroidery or monogramming in a hoop without a foot. Use this needle for general purpose sewing on most woven and knit fabrics. This spring needle can only be used in machines that use a flat back needle. Most Schmetz needles include two coded bands just below the shank. The top color code indicates the type of needle and the lower band indicates the size. Schmetz universal needles will not normally have an upper color code, although they will still have a size color band.
