Welcome to Zen Tree (6 Hours)
This is a fun day of learning techniques that will result in this lovely Zen Tree which measures 12" square. First we will learn improv piecing to create a tree. We will then learn the walking foot quilting designs and how to place them within the tree. To finish the quilt we will make a faced binding that can also be used to hang your quilt. Most students will finish this project in the class. - CONFIDENT BEGINNER AND UP.
Supplies required:
- Background, (1) 14" x 14"
- Tree Fabric, (1) 1.5" x 14", (2) WOF strips 1" or (8-10) 1" strips of various lengths
- Backing Fabric, (1) 14" x 14" , (4) 2.5" x 12" (4) 2.5" x 2.5"
- Batting, (1) 14" x 14"
- Sewing machine
- 1/4" foot
- Walking foot (with open toe if possible)
- Cutting Mat
- 18" or larger ruler
- Rotary Cutter
- 8" x 8" quilt sandwich for practice (solid fabric preferred)
- Thread and other basic sewing supplies
