This event explores aspects of the BERNINA Stitch Regulator including: BSR modes, stitch adjustments, and free-motion quilt motifs. Build your personal free-motion design library through practice and experimentation under the guidance of a BERNINA National Educator.
This is a 3-hour zoom session (often runs for 4 hours with Q&A).
KIT Will be included (please allow shipping time if you are attending outside Kelowna freight charges will be extra for kit only)
***Special Note about prep: order to allow the class to focus on free-motion quilting (the good stuff), attendees
will be required to do some prep work or homework ahead of time.
This includes:
• Preparing the small quilt top *kit provided
• Layering and spray basting the quilt top, batting and backing
• Using a walking foot to stitch-in-the-ditch quilt
• Using a walking foot to make the «heart» and «machine» motifs
Other required items for BSR event
• Thread to match fabrics, optional to choose contrasting thread (Aurifil, presencia, glide, personal preference)
• spray baste to secure quilt sandwich, Odif 505 or equivalent
• new needle, Schmetz super non-stick size 90 recommended
• Hera marker or fabric air-erasable marker
• Walking foot to create quilt sandwich
Recommended items:
• quilting gloves (personal preference)
• pen and note paper
• free-motion design reference material (books, stencils, motifs)
• Small whiteboard and marker for doodling
