Welcome to our By Annie's Running with Scissors Bag Class (8 Hours) 

Class is Saturday April 6 10-3 and Sunday April 7 9-12 
*when you sign up for class 1 it automatically assigns you to class 2

You'll love this handy zip-up Tool Case to store and carry a variety of tools, from rotary cutters and scissors to markers, turning tools, small rulers, and more. A variety of easy-to-access pockets in vinyl, mesh, and quilted fabric can be customized to fit the tools you use and love.


What you'll learn:

  • Work with zippers - learn two ways to install a zipper
  • Install and bind pockets
  • Sew layers around curves
  • Bind bulky layers together
  • A quick and easy way to create bias binding
  • How to join bias binding ends easily in seconds


Class Requirements:

  • Saturday 9:30 arrival
  • Class 10:00 am- 3 pm (3:00 - 4:00 finishing up if necessary)
  • Please ensure you have a sewing machine that has an adjustable foot that can be raised to accommodate bulky layers
  • Please have your bobbins wound with thread to match your Main, Lining, Coordinating fabric and Zipper tape.
  • Decide in advance which fabrics will be used for the Main, Lining, Outside Pockets (lining and outside), Dividers (lining and outside), Binding.

Cost:

 $70 

Supplies:

  • Please refer to the pattern for class supplies
  • Prepared top-stitched Body, front and back pockets and pressing mat.
  • Thread (to compliment main fabric, lining, zipper tape)  prepare bobbins with these 3 threads
  • Sewing machine in good working order with walking foot, ¼” foot.
  • Basic sewing supplies:  NEW NEEDLES, wonder clips/pins, rotary cutter, stiletto(if you have one), scissors, thread, white chalk marker, erasable marking pens
  • Cutting mat, quilting rulers, small iron.
Preparation work :
  • Please come to class with the BODY, FRONT AND BACK POCKETS and PRESSING MAT top stitched, we can cut them to size together in class.
    HOW TO PREPARE: Sandwich your top and bottom fabrics between your Soft and Stable foam, top stitch using straight lines or free motion using a walking foot (please ask to see our samples in store)

Shannon has a love for all things hand made.  She has been sewing since the early 90's, her mother taught her to sew clothes and her mother-in-law taught her to quilt.  Her latest obsession is 'By Annie' bag making!  She started with the Stand up Tote then made the Running with Scissors, A Place for Everything, Round Trip Duffle and Tools of the Trade all in one summer!    She is a passionate 'maker' and is excited to share her extensive knowledge bag making to guide you with ease into creating bags you will be proud of.
