The top section is a chalkboard made using, the very cleverly cool, chalk cloth. Personalize your homemade advent calendar, using standard white chalk and writing anything you wish, on the top section which is chalk cloth. Don't worry about writing your cheerful Christmas words perfect on the first try. The chalk cloth is very easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth or paper towel. Then you give it another try. It took me several tries to get it just so. Every pattern includes one number set embroidered on green wool felt. These make the numbered pockets which are a cinch to stitch upon the background.
