Create charming kangaroo appliqués for quilts, children’s projects and handmade gifts with the GO! Kangaroo Die by Janine Lecour. This fat quarter-friendly die includes 12 shapes that are difficult to cut by hand and cuts up to four of each pre-fused appliqué shape in a single pass, making it easy to turn colourful scraps into playful kangaroos. The assembled design measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/8" (14 cm x 20.6 cm).
How to Die Cut Kangaroo Shapes:
Apply fusible web to the wrong side of the fabric following the manufacturer’s instructions before cutting for fusible appliqué. Place fabric right sides together to cut mirrored pairs. The approximate yields below are based on 1 metre of 100 cm wide fabric, before allowing for shrinkage or trimming.
Body — Cut and fuse a 5 1/2" square, then place on the selected blade and cut. Cut 7 bodies across the width. 1 metre of 100 cm wide fabric yields approximately 49 bodies.
Tail — Cut and fuse a 4 1/8" x 2 1/2" rectangle, then place on the selected blade and cut. Cut 15 tails across the width. 1 metre of 100 cm wide fabric yields approximately 135 tails.
Leg — Cut and fuse a 3 7/8" x 3 1/2" rectangle, then place on the selected blade and cut. Cut 11 legs across the width. 1 metre of 100 cm wide fabric yields approximately 110 legs.
Ear, Ear Accent, Face Accent, Foot, Arm, Circle, Nose, Mouth & Pouch — Place pre-fused scraps over the selected blades and cut. Yield varies with scrap size and placement.
