Heat Press Batting Together Tape joins two batting edges with a soft, flexible fuse, helping you turn leftover batting pieces into the right size for your next quilt. This thin, stretchy cloth tape eliminates the need to pin and stitch extra batting pieces together and is easy to needle through when hand or machine quilting.
Key Features:
Fusible Joining Tape — Join batting edges to enlarge a piece, fit a specific project or reinforce batting and fabric.
Soft and Flexible — Thin cloth tape stretches with the batting and remains easy to quilt through by hand or machine.
Batting Compatibility — Suitable for batting of any fibre content; test the heat setting on your batting before use.
Stretch Fabric Uses — Can also be used for reinforcement, backing and patching stretch fabric.
How to Use:
Test your iron, tape and batting together first. The correct iron setting is important.
For irons with Teflon plates, use a low cotton setting. For irons without Teflon plates, follow the batting-specific guidance below.
For 100% polyester batting, use a low setting (high synthetic) and press with an up-and-down motion until the adhesive sets. If needed, finish with a small shot of steam while holding the iron above the tape.
Test synthetic-blend battings first; a wool setting usually works well.
Position the tape over the batting edges and press with an up-and-down motion. Once the tape is set, apply heat and, if needed, a little light steam to finish melting the adhesive backing.
Batting may look flattened immediately after pressing, then regain its loft as it cools.
When adding width to a large piece of batting, such as a 93" quilt batting, use weights on either side to hold it in place.
