The BERNINA Open Embroidery Foot #20, #20C and #20D helps you follow lines and patterns when sewing decorative embroidery. Its open-front design gives you a clear view of the stitching area for precise placement, making it useful for Richelieu and circular embroidery as well as other decorative sewing projects.

How to Know Which Foot You Need:

• Check the Attachment Style — Old-style/old-shank feet have a dual-prong attachment. New-style feet have a solid front at the attachment. Choose the old-shank version appropriate to your machine, including the dedicated 1630–9 mm option where applicable.
• Check Stitch Width and Dual Feed — Match the foot to your machine’s stitch width and feed system:
  • 5.5 mm: choose the standard no-letter #20 version for an appropriate new-style machine.
  • 9 mm without Dual Feed: choose #20C for a compatible machine.
  • 9 mm with Dual Feed: choose #20D for a machine equipped with BERNINA Dual Feed.
• Confirm Machine Features — Newer BERNINA machines can accept standard, C and D feet where compatible, but fitting a D foot does not add Dual Feed to a machine without that feature. Check your model and the offered variant.
