For 40 years, The Grace Company has had one purpose: making quilting more accessible. Quilter's Creative Touch (QCT) has been at the heart of many quilting rooms for a decade or more. This article explains what QuiltMotion X (QMX) is, how it compares to QCT, and what your options are.
What Isn't Changing
If QCT is working well for you, keep quilting. No one is required to move to QMX. Here's what stays in place:
- Critical QCT software issues will continue to be fixed
- QCT hardware will be serviced and parts supplied for at least the next five years
- QCT tier upgrades remain available
- Lifetime Gold Card access is available for purchase
- Any unredeemed one-year Gold Card will still work
Why Grace Built QMX
Years of surveys and usage data showed quilters wanted a simpler, more intuitive experience on both longarm and domestic machines. QMX is the result. Key improvements include:
- Supports designs you already own — SVG, QLI, CQP, HQF, and DXF files from any source
- Upload designs to your design store at graceframe.com
- Fully offline quilting after registration
- Automatic updates and fixes when connected
Where QMX Is Today
QMX Mastery (the tier comparable to QCT6 Pro with Gold) will not include every QCT6 Pro capability on day one. Grace prioritized the most-used features and will continue releasing updates, with the goal of matching QCT6 Pro with Gold by the end of 2027 — and innovating beyond that. Some capabilities will work a little differently, designed to get the same results with fewer steps.

Compatible Frames
QMX for longarms works with: Continuum II, Cutie Breeze, Q-Zone Hoop, Q-Zone Queen, Quilter's Evolution Hoop, and Elite frames.
QMX for domestics works with: Cutie Breeze.
Do You Need to Purchase a Tablet Separately?
No. A wireless touch-control tablet is included with your QMX software purchase, preloaded and ready to go — so you can start setting up and quilting immediately.
Considering a Switch to QMX?
Unfortunately at this time, we do not know if Canada is offering a switch to program. We will keep you up to date and posted.
